First off, thank you for considering me to paint your horse! My commission books are currently closed, but I hope to open up roughly one spot per month starting in January 2023. Keep your eyes peeled on my Instagram, Facebook, and email list for updates!

At this time, I am not painting micros since they are a choking hazard and I have a toddler and a baby at home (plus several of their little friends multiple times per week). Models in progress are obviously not kept within reach of children; however, it’s a risk I’m not willing to take at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

All of my work is done in oil paints and acrylics with no airbrushing used at all. I also juggle work/side hustles in addition to my studio and stay-at-home parenting, so my schedule is very busy. Please allow between 3 and 12 months for me to finish your model (though I will finish it faster if I can). Intricate pinto, appaloosa, and roan patterns may take even longer. I will keep you updated on the status of your model as it progresses.

Please understand that while I make every effort to make every model as flawless as possible, I cannot and will not guarantee Live Show Quality because that is so subjective. My work has placed in shows, including earning NAN cards and sectional/division championships and reserves, but every eye is different and past results do not guarantee future wins. I paint these models for fun and, though I do the best I can, I may miss a seam here or there, have a small paint flub or two, or not quite achieve a perfectly smooth finish. Please examine all photos carefully before placing an offer or bid and feel free to email me with any questions you might have. All models are sold as is and I cannot accept returns.

The above quoted prices include basic prep work on Breyers, including sanding of seams and logos to the best of my ability. PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT PREP RESINS. While I adore painting them, I’m not equipped to handle the toxic dust/other nasty stuff that prepping them can generate (later, yes, but not with two kids in diapers.) If you have a resin that you would like me to paint, please send it to me prepped to your standards. Same goes for drastic CM Breyers. Prep work is not my forte and I would rather be conservative in my estimation of my prepping skills than end up with an unsatisfied customer. PLEASE don’t ask me to prep anything other than a Breyer.

PayPal is my preferred payment method. I will also accept check and money orders. A nonrefundable deposit of at least half the commission’s price is required upfront, with the balance due upon completion of the model.  I will also accept time payments on orders over $250; we can work out the payment schedule according to your needs, within a reasonable time frame. All payments are nonrefundable; if you back out of the transaction, all monies previously paid will be voided and I reserve the right to market and sell the model as I see fit. Prices above do not include the cost of the body or shipping to you once it’s finished.

I strongly recommend fully insuring your model for shipping. I currently default to USPS unless you have another preference. I will ship internationally, but understand that USPS does not offer international insurance, and all shipping is done at your own risk. I’ll pack very well, but am not responsible for damage incurred during shipping. If your model is damaged in shipping, I will help you open a claim and do everything I can to help you get reimbursed.

I will not plagiarize another artist’s work. You can send me pictures of both real and model horses that are similar in color, pattern, etc. that you’re wanting me to paint, but I won’t attempt to duplicate another artist’s finishwork. I also don’t do exact portraits of specific horses. I do not do repair work or sculpting.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT THE SCARS: All of my sales horses that are NOT commissions have a deliberate scar somewhere on their body that’s as realistic as possible. Like us humans, horses have flaws. Even ones who have been well kept still have mishaps, and those mishaps often leave marks. I’ve never met a horse who was completely free from scars and blemishes, nor have I met a person free from those things either. We all go through tough and painful experiences in life, and these last two years have been especially rough! Some, such as on grouchy old mustang stallions, will be clear, obvious, and part of the horse’s character, but most will be difficult to find so as to not affect the model’s showability much if at all. But they will always exist. Though a lot of them spring from my original conception of the model’s story, the blemishes are all based in reality and I will happily send documentation upon request. 

Commissioned models will NOT have scars or blemishes unless their owner requests them.
